Richardson, 23, of Booneville, Arkansas, died November 16, 2012, in Paktika province, Afghanistan, from injuries suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. Spc. Richardson was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas.

Jason M. Swindle

Sgt. Jason M. Swindle, 24, of Cabot, Arkansas, died September 20, 2012, in Panjwa’l, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when he was attacked by a rocket propelled grenade while on mounted patrol. Sgt. Swindle was assigned to 1st Battalion, 64th Armor Regiment, 2nd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, Georgia.

Michael J. Strachota

Sgt. Michael J. Strachota, 28, of White Hall, Arkansas, died June 24, 2012, in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Sgt. Strachota was assigned to the 96th Transportation Company, 180th Transportation Battalion, 4th Sustainment Brigade, 13th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Fort Hood, Texas.

Gregory L. Childs

Master Sgt. Gregory L. Childs, 38, Warren, Arkansas, died May 4, 2012, in Kabul, Afghanistan. Master Sgt. Childs was assigned to Defense Logistics Agency, Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Jerry D. Reed II

Sgt. Jerry D. Reed II, 30, of Russellville, Arkansas, died February 16, 2012, in Paktika province, Afghanistan. Sgt. Reed was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 172nd Separate Infantry Brigade, Grafenwoehr, Germany.

Benjamin B. Wise

Sgt. 1st Class Benjamin B. Wise, 34, of Little Rock, Arkansas, died January 15, 2012, in Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, of injuries sustained on January 9 in Balkh province, Afghanistan, when enemy forces attacked his unit with small-arms fire. Sgt. 1st Class Wise was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Thomas A. Ratzlaff

Special Warfare Operator Senior Chief Petty Officer (SEAL) Thomas A. Ratzlaff, 34, of Green Forest, Arkansas, died August 6, 2011, in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. Senior Chief Petty Officer Ratzlaff was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit.

Loren M. Buffalo

Cpl. Loren M. Buffalo, 20, of Mountain Pine, Arkansas, died March 9, 2011, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.  Cpl. Buffalo was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Ethan C. Hardin

Spc. Ethan C. Hardin, 25, of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died January 7, 2011, of wounds suffered at Logar province, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. Spc. Hardin was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Polk, Louisiana.

On January 11, 2011, Spc. Hardin was posthumously promoted to sergeant.

Chad S. Wade

Cpl. Chad S. Wade, 22, of Bentonville, Arkansas, died December 1, 2010, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Cpl. Wade was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.

David S. Robinson

Spc. David S. Robinson, 25, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died November 20, 2010, in Qalat, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered in a non-combat related accident. Spc. Robinson was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, Vilseck, Germany.

UPDATE: On November 23, 2010, Spc. Robinson was posthumously promoted to sergeant.

Irvin M. Ceniceros

Lance Cpl. Irvin M. Ceniceros, 21, of Clarksville, Arkansas, died October 14, 2010, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Lance Cpl. Ceniceros was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.

Bryn T. Raver

Pfc. Bryn T. Raver, 20, of Harrison, Arkansas, died August 29, 2010, at Nangahar, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when his military vehicle was struck by rocket propelled grenade on August 28 at Nangahar, Afghanistan. Pfc. Raver was assigned to 1st Brigade Special Troop Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Christopher L. Eastman

Gunnery Sgt. Christopher L. Eastman, 28, of Moose Pass, Arkansas, died July 18, 2010, while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Gunnery Sgt. Eastman was assigned to the 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.

Clayton D. McGarrah

Spc. Clayton D. McGarrah, 20, of Harrison, Arkansas, died July 4, 2010, at Arghandab, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device and rocket-propelled grenade fire. Spc. McGarrah was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

William C. Yauch

Spc. William C. Yauch, 23, of Batesville, Arkansas, died June 11, 2010, in Jalula, Iraq, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. Spc. Yauch was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.

Owens, 21, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, died March 1, 2010, at Forward Operating Base Sharana, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered earlier that day when enemy forces attacked his vehicle using direct fire in Yosuf Khel.  Sgt. Owens was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
