Vickers, 36, of Kokomo, Hawaii, died August 6, 2011, in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. Senior Chief Petty Officer Vickers was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit.

Camero was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, California.
