MissouriPfc. Richard L. McNulty III, 22, Rolla, Missouri, died May 13, 2012, in Bowri Tana, Afghanistan, when the enemy attacked his vehicle with an improvised explosive device. Pfc. McNulty was assigned to the 425th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.

MissouriStaff Sgt. Tyler J. Smith, 24, of Licking, Missouri, died April 3, 2012, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when he was attacked with an enemy improvised explosive device. Staff Sgt. Smith was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Billy J. Siercks

Siercks, 32, of Velda Village, Missouri, died September 28, 2011, in Landstuhl, Germany, of wounds suffered September 27 in Logar, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit using indirect fire. 1st Sgt. Siercks was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment, 10th Combat Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York.

MissouriSpecial Warfare Operator Chief Petty Officer (SEAL) Matthew D. Mason, 37, of Kansas City, Missouri, died August 6, 2011, in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. Chief Petty Officer Mason was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit.

MissouriSgt. Edward F. Dixon III, 37, of Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, died June 18, 2011, in Uruzgan province, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered during a vehicle roll-over. Sgt. Dixon was assigned to the 4th Battalion, 70th Armor Regiment, 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Baumholder, Germany.

Sadell, 34, of Columbia, Missouri, died October 24, 2010, at National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland, of wounds suffered October 5 at Arif Kala, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device.  Sgt. 1st Class Sadell was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, New York.
