Workman, 32, of Blanding, Utah, died August 6, 2011, in Wardak province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when his CH-47 Chinook helicopter crashed. Petty Officer 1st Class Workman was assigned to an East Coast-based Naval Special Warfare unit.

UtahSgt. Daniel D. Gurr, 21, of Vernal, Utah, died August 5, 2011, while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Sgt. Gurr was assigned to the 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward), Okinawa, Japan.

Raphael R. Arruda

UtahCpl. Raphael R. Arruda, 21, of Ogden, Utah, died July 16, 2011, in Kunar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. Cpl. Arruda was assigned to the 416th Theater Engineer Command, Ogden, Utah.

Preston J. Suter

UtahSpc. Preston J. Suter, 22, of Sandy, Utah, died July 5, 2011, in Paktia province, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. Spc. Suter was assigned to the 709th Military Police Battalion, 18th Military Police Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Hohenfels, Germany.

Byrd was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Matthew G. Wagstaff

UtahChief Warrant Officer Matthew G. Wagstaff, 34, of Orem, Utah, died in a helicopter crash September 21, 2010, during combat operations in Zabul province, Afghanistan. Chief Warrant Officer Wagstaff was assigned to 5th Battalion, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Kramer was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Wallace, 33, of Utah, died August 29, 2010, at Nangahar, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when his military vehicle was struck by rocket propelled grenade on August 28 at Nangahar, Afghanistan. Capt. Wallace was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky.

Kurt R. Curtiss

Curtiss, 27, of Murray, Utah, died August 26, 2009, in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when he was shot while his unit was supporting Afghan security forces during an enemy attack. Staff Sgt. Curtiss was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska.

Micheal B. Alleman

Jeffrey A. Ammon

UtahLt. Jeffrey A. Ammon, 37, of Orem, Utah, died May 20, 2008, as a result of injuries suffered from an improvised explosive device in the Aband District, Afghanistan. Ammon was attached to Commander Navy Region Northwest, Bangor, Washington, and serving in Afghanistan as a member of Provincial Reconstruction Team Ghazni.

Larry I. Rougle

Rougle, 25, of West Jordan, Utah, died October 23, 2007, in Sawtalo Sar Mountain, Kunar Province, Afghanistan, of wounds when he was engaged by enemy small arms fire during combat operations. Rougle was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 503rd Airborne Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Vicenza, Italy.
